François Gallix  -Born in1973

From age of six, he studies music at Macon Conservatoire. He meets saxophonist Eric Prost, drummer Laurent Sarrien. In 1994, he founds the Crescent Jazz Club of Macon which becomes the laboratory, the place of exchange and meetings of Mu’s Collective with whom he records the two Cd’s ‘Don Quichotte and ‘Live au Crescent’, both at Seventh Records (Harmonia Mundi).
He does a lot of concerts and obtains several distinctions, among them, the first prize of La Defense in 1996. In 1999, he records ‘Get High’ with trio Loops that he founded in 1998 with Stephane Foucher and Eric Prost. The trio tours a lot in France and abroad. He rejoins the quintet of ex-trumpeter of ONJ, Francois Chassagnite in 1999, with whom he will play at the Off of Marciac Festival. In 2001, tours with quartet French-Bulgarian made of Hristo Yotsov, Chibil Benev and Eric Prost.
The same year, he receives a ‘go ahead’ from National Stage of Macon, for whom he creates ‘Les Chasseurs d’Etoiles’ and plays with Jean Cohen, Serge Lazarevitch, then Simon Goubert, Eric Lelann, Yannick Rieu, Alain Jean-Marie, Peter King, S. Ellington, Thomas Chapin, Michel Grailler, assists Steve Grossman, Christian Vander, George Brown, Bobby Frey, Sunny Murray, Manhu Roche, Nelson Veras.
He does many concerts in France, Spain and also Bulgaria and tours with the Malcom Braff Combo in Algeria. With the training given to him at the Crescent Jazz Club Macon Festival, he organizes an improvisation workshop and the club’s workshops and assists with Jazz’s exams of Lyon CNR in 2000. His pedagogical activity extends also in Bulgaria. There he teaches master classes in 1999 of solo double bass at the Music Academies of Botevgrad and Sofia. In 1997, he participates in a cultural exchange between Macon’s theatre and the French Institute.
